The Hybrid Is Back! Celebrating 20 Years of Innovation

Back in 1998, before the days of Google and Y2K, GFB’s founding engineer, John Adrian, revolutionized the turbo world by creating the first-ever dual-port blow-off valve: the Hybrid. Frustrated with his WRX stalling due to an atmosphere-venting BOV, he designed a valve that combined recirculation and atmospheric venting—a game-changer that became the flagship product of Go Fast Bits.

The Hybrid’s staged dual-port design prevented backfiring and stalling on MAF-equipped cars, while still delivering the signature blow-off sound under hard driving. Its success inspired an entire industry, with many brands adopting this technology. The Hybrid then evolved into the adjustable Respons TMS and the electronically adjustable Deceptor Pro.

Now, in celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Hybrid is back! Featuring the same innovative dual-port system as the original, it now allows configurations for full recirculation, full atmosphere, or 50/50 venting. With direct bolt-on kits for a wide range of vehicles, the Hybrid offers modern versatility with the heritage of a turbo legend.
